My husband and I are convinced that the truest way to dwell richly in the confines of our post-Eden world involves immersing ourselves in God’s word with the aim to know Christ.
But what does it mean to dwell richly?
My physical body craves to dwell richly in a comfy chair nestled beside a big picture window with a glorious view of the world beyond. Cue the instrumental hymns with a hint of jazz. Add a few simple accessories like a rustic wooden table, a simple vase of wildflowers, plush pillows, and voilà! My mind quiets and my soul refreshes.
What about you? What creates an atmosphere that renews you?
We can furnish the interior world of our thought life in a similar fashion. Old junk can be cleared out. Unhelpful fixtures taking up space can be hauled away.
Our everyday lives might be littered with difficulties, but the Bible has gorgeous textiles for us to trace and select from. When we allow his word to upholster the furnishings of our mind, we discover a robust and invigorating vibe within our reach. In time, God’s word supplies sturdy furnishings that direct our thoughts to his steadfast love and tender mercies. We’ll move beyond mere knowledge of him and into a passionate and thrilling love relationship with him.
Renewing our mind is a lifelong process. Once the renovations are underway, nothing else will satisfy. When our inner world drifts into disorder, a longing for the beauty of his truths will plague us until we once again settle in with his word.
At Dwell Richly we are passionate about providing resources to help you engage with his word. We create and curate tools to help you read, meditate, and memorize his word.
Here’s to curating a beautiful inner space with his gracious truths!
Dwell richly,
Kim

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. –Colossians 3:16
